Johnny asked:

I have an antique carriage clock with an inscription that says Breguet 1818 on it. Is that the name of the clock maker? If so who is he? If he’s famous maybe my clock will be worth more

I made an article about this clock maker recently, here’s a snipit:

“It is believe that the first French made carriage clock was built by one of the most respected and inspired watchmakers of his time, Abraham-Louis Breguet(1747-1823). It was no secret at the time that there was a demand in the market place for a traveling clock that could withstand the rigors of travel. Abraham-Louis Breguet was not the first to come up with this idea, but he could be considered one of the most creative and one of the best at implementing these ideas into real working masterpieces.”

So hold onto that clock it’s probably worth a small fortune!
